LightningPiggy: The First Electronic Bitcoin Piggy Bank for Kids

Our vision is to make Sats the standard for every child to save. We want to use this educational platform to inspire future generations not only to save with sound money, but also to learn to create in a free and open way.

From an early age, we are programmed to think in fiat terms. Depending on our cultural background, in many parts of the world our first introduction to money is when the "tooth fairy" visits, followed by being given a piggy bank that is filled with coins for good deeds. However, this money quickly loses its purchasing power and is therefore useless as a store of value.

Currently, fourteen years after the discovery of bitcoin, there is no fun, kid-friendly way for kids to collect Sats and watch their savings grow.

To accelerate global adoption, we need to make the tools and resources available to Bitcoiners of all ages.

LightningPiggy will bring bitcoin adoption to young people in a real and meaningful way. In addition to learning about sound money from the earliest possible moment, it also opens the door to STEM learning opportunities through affordable home/school/community development kits. Later in life, bitcoin will be the logical first choice of money; anything else will simply not make sense.

LightningPiggy is an open-source project, which means anyone can access the source code and contribute to its development.
