Bitcoin Development Philosophy ebook by Kalle Rosenbaum is a book for developers about the choices behind the design of Bitcoin. This is the digital edition in English. Prefer paper? There is also the softcover.
What is the Bitcoin Development Philosophy ebook about?
Rosenbaum writes for developers who already know the basics of Bitcoin, such as Proof-of-Work, block building and the life cycle of a transaction. He explains the trade-offs and the thinking behind the design, so you can take in more than ten years of development lessons and debate.
The book is organized into chapters on topics such as decentralization, trustlessness, privacy, finite supply and scaling. Each chapter points with links and QR codes to articles or videos by experienced Bitcoin developers. That lets you keep reading on your own and form your own view on the contradictory ideas in the Bitcoin community.
Who is this book for?
For developers with a working knowledge of Bitcoin. If you are still at the very start, read an introductory book first, such as Het Kleine Bitcoinboekje.
