The book · in brief
Bitcoin as a means of projecting power, not as a currency
Jason Lowery, an officer in the U.S. Space Force and a researcher at MIT, turns the usual question on its head. Not: What is bitcoin worth? But: What can you prove and protect with proof-of-work?
His argument: bitcoin mining is a way to impose real, physical costs in the digital world. Just as countries project power through armies, they can do so in cyberspace through energy and computing power. According to Lowery, this makes bitcoin a matter of national strategic importance. You don’t have to agree with every conclusion to consider it one of the most original books on bitcoin in recent years. Read it for yourself and form your own opinion.
