Cryptoeconomics by Erik Voskuil applies economic principles to Bitcoin. This is the English softcover. The book is meant for readers who already know Bitcoin and Austrian economics.
What is Cryptoeconomics about?
Voskuil points out flaws and needless complexity in common understandings of Bitcoin and builds a rigorous economic approach of his own. He asks questions such as: was there ever money with a fixed supply, and is there anything else whose production cost moves with its price? In his view Bitcoin is economics, technology and security at once, and only by covering all three do you avoid errors.
You will find no wallet tutorials, price forecasts or advice in it.
About the author
Voskuil started with a hardware wallet and later wrote or edited all of the roughly 500,000 lines of code of the Libbitcoin software library. He was a combat pilot in the U.S. Navy. If you are not that far into Bitcoin yet, start with the Dutch book Het Kleine Bitcoinboekje.
