Praxeologie | Knut Svanholm

02 · from the workshop

Praxeologie by Knut Svanholm is about praxeology, the science of human action. This is the German softcover. If you would rather read English, there is Praxeology.

What is Praxeologie about?

The book opens with a question: what if there were a subject as important as mathematics that you never hear about at school? Svanholm explains that everything that happens in a society comes from the will and desires of individuals. From a few irrefutable statements about people, logic and deductive thinking lead to conclusions that do not depend on any political ideology.

Svanholm wants to make the field accessible to a wide audience. To do so he lets Robinson Crusoe get to know his relationship to the resources nature gives him, to his time and to other people. Along the way you learn the difference between apples and oranges and their subjective value to different people.
